Resistor Color Code

Band 1 Band 2 Band 3 Band 4
Value 1 (MSV) Value 2 Weight Tolerance

Resistance:

1,000 Ω ±5%

Resistance (Ohm)  = [1st Band ] [2nd Band] x [MULTIPLIER]  ± %[TOLERANCE]

Assume Y is [1st Band ] [2nd Band] x [MULTIPLIER]

Then % of Tolerance will be (Tolerance   x    Y)/100

From the above picture of resistor you can make it as example and apply the formula above.

1st Band  (Red Band) = 2

2nd Band (Violet Band) = 7

Multiplier (Green Band) =100000

Tolerance (Gold) = 5%

Resistance (ohm) = 2 7 x 100000 ± 5%    = 2700000±5%  = 2700000 ± 135000 (ohm)

The Resistance value is inclusive in range of 2565000(ohm) to 2835000(ohm) .

You can find the color code values for each band in the following table .
